Caring For Your Jewellery

KINCHOS jewellery is made with natural gemstones and precious metals. Proper care helps preserve both appearance and structural integrity over time.

General Care

  • Remove jewellery before strenuous activity, sports, or manual work

  • Avoid contact with hard surfaces to prevent impact or abrasion

  • Put jewellery on last, after cosmetics, perfume, or hair products

  • Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, or household cleaning

Even precious metals and gemstones can be damaged by repeated impact or chemical exposure.

Gemstones

Natural gemstones vary in hardness and durability.

  • Avoid sudden temperature changes

  • Do not expose stones to harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners unless advised

  • Store pieces separately to prevent stones from scratching each other

If you are unsure about the care requirements of a specific stone, contact us before cleaning or servicing.

Cleaning

For regular care:

  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear

  • For light cleaning, use lukewarm water and mild soap, then dry thoroughly

Do not use abrasive materials, chemical cleaners, or aggressive cleaning methods.

Professional cleaning is recommended periodically.

Storage

  • Store jewellery individually, ideally in a soft pouch or lined box

  • Keep pieces dry and away from direct sunlight or heat

  • Avoid storing jewellery loosely where pieces can rub or tangle

Proper storage reduces wear and prolongs finish quality.

Inspections & Maintenance

We recommend periodic inspection to ensure:

  • Stones remain secure

  • Settings are not worn or loosened

  • Clasps and structural elements function properly

If you notice movement, rattling, or visible damage, stop wearing the piece and contact us.

Important Note

Normal wear will occur over time and is part of owning fine jewellery.
Damage caused by impact, misuse, or improper care may require repair and is not considered a manufacturing fault.
